Serving South Carolina since 1993

Volunteers

Wildlife Rehab Group of South Carolina provides training for all its members. New members are strongly encouraged to take our basic rehab class, and it is required in order to rehab. Species specific classes are offered as well to members wanting to rehabilitate animals.

WRGSC needs members to assist in the day to day operation of the group. We also need volunteers to assist at events and programs and transporting animals and supplies. WRGSC needs a grant writer. If you have experience in writing grants and can help us, contact info@wildlife-rehab.com.

Due to the demanding nature of our rehabilitation work, members must be 18 years of age. If you have children that are interested in what we do, we suggest you join as a family. Parents must be the primary caretakers of animal patients. You must have proof of rabies vaccination to rehabilitate rabies vector species.

Being a member of WRGSC has many benefits! As a member, you are provided training by experienced, capable rehabilitators. WRGSC also provides formula and medication to assist you in the care of our babies. You will be mentored by another member as you learn.

WRG also has meetings several times a year and we hope you'll attend. Check the calendar for dates and locations. Meet other members and find out what WRG is doing to help wildlife!

If you would like to help our group save wildlife, we welcome you!

Rehab Class Descriptions

We also provide training for our members to help us better serve our patients. We usually hold our Basic Rehab Class twice a year, in the spring and fall. All members are strongly urged to attend this important class. You will learn how to decide if an animal really needs help, what to do when you first get a new patient, basic injury care, feeding and more.

WRGSC also offers species specific classes such as rabbit, squirrel, and opossum classes to train you how to successfully raise an animal until release. These classes are offered a few times a year as needed to train new members.

Once you become a member of WRGSC, you will be notified of class schedules and other events by email. You can also view our calendar on this website.
